ArcPoint Consulting
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the SyteLine Admin Launcher browser extension processes information when used with its companion desktop application.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the ArcPoint Consulting SyteLine Admin Launcher browser extension (the “Extension”) and describes the information processed by the Extension as part of the current locally operated launcher architecture.
The Extension works together with the SyteLine Admin Launcher desktop application (the “Launcher”). The Extension is not intended to operate as a general-purpose browser monitoring, analytics, or credential-management extension.
2. Information the Extension Processes
Launch information
When a user initiates a SyteLine launch from the Launcher, the Extension may process a short-lived launch reference and the information needed to complete that requested sign-in, such as:
- the selected SyteLine server or Web Client origin;
- the selected SyteLine configuration;
- the SyteLine user name;
- the corresponding password or other sign-in fields required by the SyteLine Web Client; and
- the target SyteLine page to open after successful authentication.
Website access
The Extension accesses a SyteLine Web Client origin only as needed to complete a launch requested by the user. It may read the launch reference associated with that request and execute the SyteLine sign-in request within that SyteLine origin.
Session cookies
SyteLine may set authentication or session cookies after a successful sign-in. Those cookies are created and managed by the SyteLine server and the browser. The Extension does not read, copy, export, or store SyteLine HttpOnly authentication cookies.
3. How Information Is Used
The Extension uses the information described above only to:
- associate the browser tab with a launch initiated from the Launcher;
- obtain the corresponding single-use sign-in payload from the locally installed Launcher;
- submit that sign-in information to the user-selected SyteLine Web Client environment; and
- navigate the browser to the authenticated SyteLine Web Client after a successful sign-in.
The Extension does not use privileged credentials or SyteLine access information for advertising, profiling, marketing, unrelated analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the requested SyteLine launch.
4. Storage and Retention
The Extension does not persist the SyteLine password or sign-in payload in
chrome.storage, browser local storage, or extension-managed databases.
The sign-in payload is intended to exist only in memory while a single requested launch is
being completed.
The launch reference used to correlate a browser tab with the Launcher is short-lived, single-use, and is not itself a password or reusable authentication credential.
The companion Launcher may store configuration information and credentials locally on the user’s Windows device. Stored credentials used by the current Launcher architecture are protected at rest using Windows user-scoped encryption. The Extension does not independently maintain a separate persistent credential store.
5. Data Transmission and Sharing
Sign-in information is transmitted only as necessary to perform the requested launch: locally between the Extension and the installed Launcher, and from the browser to the user-selected SyteLine Web Client environment.
ArcPoint Consulting does not sell or rent information processed by the Extension. The current Extension does not send privileged passwords, general browsing activity, or launch payloads to ArcPoint Consulting for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
The customer or organization operating the selected SyteLine environment may receive and process sign-in and session information according to its own systems, policies, and contractual obligations.
6. Browser Permissions
The Extension may request browser permissions required for its limited functionality, including native messaging, script execution, access to the active SyteLine tab, and access to specific SyteLine origins approved for use.
- Native messaging is used to communicate with the locally installed Launcher.
- Scripting is used to perform the SyteLine sign-in request within the selected SyteLine page.
- Active tab / host access is used only for the SyteLine environment involved in the requested launch.
These permissions are not used to inspect unrelated websites or collect a user’s general browsing history.
7. Security
The Extension and Launcher are designed to minimize exposure of privileged credentials. Relevant safeguards include short-lived, single-use launch references, in-memory handling of sign-in payloads, local native messaging, avoidance of passwords in URLs, and avoiding persistent browser storage of the sign-in payload.
No software or transmission method can guarantee absolute security, but ArcPoint Consulting designs the Extension to limit credential exposure to the systems required to complete the user-requested SyteLine authentication.
8. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The current Extension does not include advertising, third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral profiling, or general-purpose browsing analytics. It is not designed to track users across websites or services.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is a professional administrative utility intended for business and consulting use. It is not directed to children and is not designed to collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the Extension’s functionality, data handling, or supporting architecture changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page.
In particular, if a future version introduces centralized accounts, licensing, hosted authorization, telemetry, or other cloud services, this policy will be revised before those features are represented by this policy.
